The operations room set up by the UAE Cultural Attaché's office in Canberra to follow up the earthquake developments in the New Zealand’s Christchurch.

Canberra: The operations room set up by the UAE Cultural Attaché's office in Canberra to follow up the earthquake developments in the New Zealand’s Christchurch.

A direct line was set up to be linked with all UAE students studying in the country.

Abdul Rahman Al Gharqa, the UAE Cultural Attaché spoke to some of the UAE students in the country to make sure of their safety.

In other locations where telephone lines were cut as a result of the earthquake, the operations room coordinated with New Zealand authorities in the vicinity to send people to the UAE students dorms and residents to check on their safety and to be in direct contact with them.
