Abu Dhabi: Three new ambassadors were sworn in yesterday (Monday) at Al Mushrif Palace before His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Shaikh Mohammad wished the ambassadors success in their duties that serve the interests of the UAE and its people. Shaikh Mohammad said that the UAE leadership believes in the capabilities of Emiratis, national cohesion, and peaceful coexistence and equality among all people in the world. He pointed out that this has always been the UAE’s policy.
Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, were present at the ceremony.
Ali Abdullah Al Ahmad, UAE Ambassador to Germany, Ahmad Mohammad Yousuf Al Tunaiji, UAE Ambassador to Belarus, and Ahmad Hatem Al Menhali, UAE Ambassador to Mexico, pledged loyalty to the UAE and its leadership and constitution.
Later, Shaikh Mohammad also received the credentials of the ambassadors of Norway, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Tunisia, Yemen, Cyprus, Australia, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan and Fiji.
Shaikh Mohammad welcomed the new ambassadors, and wished them success in their duties to boost cooperation and relations between the UAE and their respective countries.
He said that the doors of government and officials are always open for joint consultations and exchange of constructive views and ideas that would open new avenues of cooperation between states and peoples for the welfare and benefit of all.
The new ambassadors conveyed the greetings of their presidents and heads of government to President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid, and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
Present during the ceremony and reception were Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, Reem Ebrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation, and other officials.
