Abdullah keeps up talks on UN summit sidelines

Advances UAE’s positions on a host of issues in meetings with several counterparts

New York: Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held meetings with Singaporean Foreign Minister K. Shanmugam, Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Muliana Natalegawa, Panamanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Roberto Henriquez and Myanmar’s Foreign Minister Wunna Muang Lwin on the sidelines of the 67th United Nations General Assembly session in New York.

The meetings discussed areas of cooperation and ways of enhancing them in addition to exchanging views on a number of political and security issues of common interest, particularly the Syrian crisis.

During the meeting with Shaikh Abdullah, Myanmar’s Foreign Minister detailed the latest security situation in his country with particular focus on the plight of Rohingyas and stressing that his government continues to address the community’s problems at various levels.

The Indonesian Foreign Minister, during his meeting with Shaikh Abdullah, sought UAE investments in his country, stressing the importance of developing economic and trade relations between the two countries.
