Warehouse with construction supplies catches fire, no injuries reported
Dubai: A fire broke out at a warehouse in Ras Al Khor Industrial Area on Sunday morning. No injuries were reported.
A spokesperson from the Dubai Civil Defence said the fire started at around 7.46am at the warehouse of Desert Roofing and Flooring LLC (DRFCO) in Ras Al Khor. He said the fire was brought under control at around 8.05am.
“The warehouse had construction material inside. But the fire was contained within one warehouse,” the official told Gulf News. “The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
The warehouse had waterproofing and foam concrete and other construction products.
Residents en route to their workplaces just beside the warehouse that was on fire waited one block away until the fire was brought under control.
“I was on my way to work when I saw smoke. So we stopped because the road was closed,” Naim, who works in Ras Al Khor Industrial area, told Gulf News.
“I was in the parking area when I heard sirens. So I came out and saw that DRFCO warehouse was on fire,” another witness said.
Three fire stations responded on the scene to put out the fire: Al Rashidiya, Al Ghusais and Port Saeed.
