Massive clean-up to take place next week

Dubai: One of the biggest voluntary three-day clean ups will take place next week with close to 17,000 volunteers planned to take part to reduce waste and encourage the public to reuse or recycle.

The clean up, part of Clean Up the World 2007, organised by Dubai Municipality will take place from November 20 to 23.

On November 20, the drive will begin along the Academic City Road near Mushrif Park, at 10am. Activities on November 21 will include a marine clean up by divers, sailors and fishermen at the Deira creek.

On November 22, nearly 3,000 volunteers will collect debris along the Deira Corniche. On the last day, volunteers are invited to help clean up various sites.
