Environment ministry staff take green pledge

Dubai: One day before launching the Green Land's "Stand Up and Take Action" campaign, the Ministry of Environment and Water held a solidarity meeting on Thursday.

The meeting was chaired by Dr Rashid Ahmad Al Fahd, Minister of Environment and Water, where hundreds of employees vowed to adopt the sustainable lifestyle to save the environment.

The Green Land Campaign will be held from today till October 19 throughout the UAE, and there will be a major celebration in Dubai on the last day of the campaign.

The Green Land's "Stand Up and Take Action" campaign is sponsored under the patronage of Princess Haya Bint Al Hussain, Wife of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum,Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and UN Messenger of Peace.
