Emirates cabin crew get a feel of Japan

Emirates is conducting special two-day workshops, Soul of Japan, for cabin crew members who will operate its new flights to Osaka, to ensure Japanese passengers feel at home on flights between Dubai and Osaka, regardless of their nationality.

Crew are also trained in the special service features to be offered on board flights to and from Osaka. Non-stop flights between Dubai and Osaka begin on October 1, providing the first direct service between the Gulf and Japan.

The cultural training programme focuses on the people of Japan, its core values of quality, harmony and attention to detail.

"We have called the workshops Soul of Japan to emphasise and explore the unique cultural differences of our Japanese customer market" says Mark Turner, manager Cabin Crew Service Training.

"The core values underpin the essence of not only Japanese society but the underlying customer service philosophy we strive to achieve within Emirates."

Emirates has 60 Japanese cabin crew with nearly 20 more currently in training. The airline plans to have two Japanese nationals in each cabin on the flights to and from Osaka.

They join one of the most cosmopolitan cabin crews in the world with 92 nationalities represented.
