Dubai: Egg vandals in posh Emirates Living are ruining house parties as guests get eggs thrown at them.

Speaking to XPRESS, a Springs 2 resident was horrified when some vandals threw eggs at her guests who were invited for an evening party on Friday (February 22).

“It was around 10.30pm and some people were sitting in the garden area and chit-chatting. Suddenly we saw a series of eggs being thrown inside our garden, two of which landed on our guests. Since we do not have a door in the garden my husband had to run upstairs to the balcony to see who the vandals were. But, by then they had run away. This was really shocking to us as I have been living in this place for five years and such a horrible incident has never happened before,” the furious Indian resident said.

She was entertaining around 50 people that evening and called Emaar security who arrived in half an hour. “The security personnel said he could not do anything much as the vandals had run away. They told us to inform them next time when we have a party so they can patrol our house,” she said.

The resident believed this could be a case of teenagers playing a prank.

“When we stepped outside our villa after the incident, we saw some teenagers staring at our guests and whistling at them. It was really embarrassing for us as we are supposed to be living in a posh upscale community and such behavior is totally unacceptable.”

The same evening another Springs 2 resident said vandals threw eggs into the garden area of her lake-facing villa. “At around 9.30 pm my family was sitting out and talking and somebody threw eggs inside our garden area. This is horrible,” she said.

Security has been a common concern around Emirates Living with residents regularly demanding increased patrolling in the area. Last August, residents of Meadows, Springs and The Lakes carried a signature campaign for security overhaul in the areas. “We have not seen any visible improvement on our concerns,” said Neha Bali, who spearheaded the campaign.
