Dubai: Deserving and talented Pakistani students will be offered scholarships worth Dh1 million by the Skyline University College in Sharjah.

Pakistan Association in Dubai (PAD) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the university to facilitate the students who will be able to apply for scholarships through the association.

According to the MoU, this year, the university will offer Dh1 million worth of scholarships for Pakistani Students. Skyline has also offered scholarships worth Dh50,000 for eight students of grade 12 (boys and girls) from Pakistani community schools.

It has also approved sports scholarships worth Dh100,000 in addition to allowing the PAD to use its auditorium for their events and the university’s cricket, football and basketball grounds.

The MoU was signed by the Skyline’s director, Nitin Anand, and PAD president Dr Faisal Ekram in the presence of Samina Nasir, head of the Education Committee, PAD; and Rizwan Fancy, head of Public Relations at PAD; and Rakesh Gaur, deputy director, Marketing and Registration Department of Skyline University College.

Dr Ekram said: “The PAD has been enjoying partnership with the university since 2009 as it offers scholarships to our community students of great value every year. It offers degree of international value and standards.”

Skyline University offers graduate and undergraduate programmes in various disciplines.

According to the MoU, the university will also conduct workshops for blue-collar workers including health camps and short courses in English and basic etiquette.

Dr Ekram said that PAD would connect the university with Pakistani schools to conduct presentations and workshops for students and teachers.
