DUBAI Discovery Gardens residents are asking Nakheel to open a community swimming pool, which is currently locked.

Residents say despite paying a service fee for the community, the pool facility has been denied to them.

“I am really upset because we pay service charges for the facilities in the area. Am I paying for this closed swimming pool as well,?” asked an angry Pakistani father of two living in building 77.

The pool, located next to the tennis court on Street 3, Mediterranean cluster, has been shut for a long time.

“I pay a service fee of Dh17,000 per annum for a one-bedroom apartment. It’s not a small amount that we pay and I sure hope that Nakheel will get this pool working,” said an angry Kenyan resident.

A visit by XPRESS to the area showed the gate leading to the swimming pool was locked. Ironically, a board with swimming rules and instructions were still placed on top of the pool entrance.
