Dubai: An Egyptian actress has been accused of assaulting an American tourist, his wife and their 11-year-old daughter at a five-star hotel last month, Gulf News has learnt.
The movie star and her sister were caught on camera attacking the family, sources said.
Dubai Police received a report of the incident on the night of June 29 and an officer went to the scene. The actress, her sister and the tourists were taken to Al Barsha police station.
The 47-year-old man accused the actress of yelling at and cursing his daughter at the hotel, accusing the child of filming her in her swimming suit. In his statement, the man said that he tried to explain to the actress that his daughter was taking pictures of his five-year-old son, but the woman and her sister attacked him, his wife and daughter. He said that the actress snatched the phone from his daughter’s hands and broke it while her sister bit him in the shoulder.
According to a medical report, the American man, his wife and daughter had bite and scratch marks on their bodies.
The family has hired legal consultants from Al Rowad Advocates to pursue the case.
