Sharjah: Police have arrested an Arab man on charges of selling banned and unlicensed items using BlackBerry and social media network.

The items included sex-enhancing drugs, prohibited and dangerous medicines and herbal formulas.

Sharjah Police’s Criminal Investigation Department arrested the suspect following a tip-off.

The Arab suspect, identified as A.A.A., told police he impersonated a woman who owned the company which was selling the illegal substances and at the same time played the role of the company’s sales representative who delivered customers’ orders because he wanted to keep his identity a secret.

He told police that he bought the items from a number of shops operating in the country licensed to sell herbal products and then resold them to his clientele.

The suspect was referred to the public prosecution for further action.

Sharjah Police have warned the public against responding to such adverts which can be harmful to their health.
