Ras Al Khaimah: A drug dealer has been arrested in Ras Al Khaimah after officers found a large quantity of narcotic substances in his possession,

A total of 1kg of heroin, and 27,000 tramadol tablets were recovered from the suspect, said Colonel Ebrahim Ali Kaptin, director-general of the Ras Al Khaimah Police’s Anti-Narcotics Department. The suspect is an Emirati.

Authorities started investigations after receiving information about illegal activities being carried out by the suspect who was promoting drugs in the emirate. The drug peddler was arrested in a trap laid by the police.

The case has been referred to the public prosecution.

The officer said drugs have a direct impact on the human mind, citing the need to focus on the 14-30 age group to make them aware of the consequences of addiction, as they can easily fall into the trap of drug dealers.

Major General Ali Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, lauded the cooperation of police departments in the country.
