Police launch probe into death of Indian woman in Sharjah
26-year-old found dead by family members in early hours on Wednesday
Sharjah: Sharjah Police are investigating the death of a 26-year-old woman whose body was found inside her house in Al Ghafyah area in the early hours of Wednesday.
A Sharjah Police officer told Gulf News that the police received a call around 5am on Wednesday saying that the woman was found dead in the house.
The Indian woman, identified only by her initials J.S.M., was first found motionless by family members.
“The woman was taken to Al Kuwaiti hospital around 5.35am where she was pronounced dead,” official said.
A Criminal Investigation Department team is investigating the case and the body was moved to forensic laboratory for autopsy to identify the cause of death and to determine whether it was a suicide or a criminal act.
