Dubai: A worker has been accused of having consensual sex with a prostitute and robbing her after she threatened to post his nude photos on the internet.

The 21-year-old Pakistani worker, A.H., was said to have forced his way into the flat of his 26-year-old countrywoman, A.M., and stolen her gold, cash and mobile in March.

The woman reported to the police that she had been robbed, according to records, before primary interrogations revealed that the couple [A.H. and A.M.] had been having an affair in her flat at International City.

A.M. alleged to police interrogators that A.H. and his friend forced themselves into her place and robbed her.

Following his arrest, the male suspect claimed that A.M. was his girlfriend and she had blackmailed him and threatened to publish his images while having sex with her on the internet if he did not pay her Dh10,000.

Prosecutors accused A.H. of robbing A.M. under threat and having consensual sex with her.

A.M. was accused of working in prostitution.

The couple pleaded not guilty when they showed up before the Dubai Court of First Instance on Sunday.

“I did not have consensual sex with her or steal her belongings,” the 21-year-old contended before presiding judge Fahd Al Shamsi.

Countering A.H.’s claims, A.M. argued: “He is the one who entered my flat and stole my belongings … I did not work in prostitution.”

According to the charge sheet, prosecutors said A.H. stole the woman’s jewellery worth Dh5,500, Dh2,500 in cash and two mobile phones [that are believed to have contained his pictures].

Prosecutors said two other suspects, who remain at large, aided A.H. in the robbery.

In her capacity as a victim, A.M. testified to prosecutors that she had been working as a prostitute in her flat in the Italian Cluster.

“I worked as a prostitute in my own residence and charged Dh100 per person. One day at 5pm, the suspect and two others forced their way into my flat when I was collecting some goods that I had ordered from the nearby grocery store. They threatened me with a knife and stole my gold and cash … they also stole my mobile phones,” she claimed.

A police corporal claimed to prosecutors that A.H. was arrested in May.

“During questioning, he alleged that A.M. was his girlfriend and he had been having consensual sex with her for a while. He also claimed that she worked in prostitution and he constantly had sex with her in her flat. A.H. further purported that she recently tried to extract Dh10,000 from him when she threatened to post his nude photos while he was drunk on the internet. He alleged that he entered her flat with her consent and took the mobile phones that contained his images … he denied robbery,” testified the corporal.

Presiding judge Al Shamsi will hand out a ruling on October 28.
