Dubai: An Irish music promoter was horrified when he learnt that a property owned by his father has given as home address by a member of the suspected team of assassins involved in killing of a senior Hamas commander in Dubai
Mahmoud Al Mabhouh was found dead on January 19, 2010 in his hotel room at the Al Bustan Rotana in Dubai.
The property which lies vacant is located in Dublin’s Ballsbridge close to several diplomatic missions including those of Ukraine, US and Israel, according to a report in The Irish Times.
It is owned by James Reynolds, father of music promoter and Electric Picnic organiser John Reynolds, since the 1960s. The three-storey red brick property has been lying vacant for the last ten years.
Speaking on behalf of his father, John Reynolds told The Irish Times that his family was “absolutely shocked and horrified” that the property had been used as an address by one of the alleged hit squad without their knowledge.
Details of the invoice obtained by the daily correspond with those in the hotel’s records to a man traveling under the name of Kevin Daveron, one of 18 suspects named by Dubai Police last week.
The invoice notes that Daveron arrived in Dubai on January 18th and his costs incurred for two nights accommodation, breakfast ordered in the hotel lobby, and non-alcoholic beverages consumed from the mini-bar. The total bill came to Dh3,578 (€715) which was cleared in cash.
