Abu Dhabi Police arrest drug dealer seeking to sell 3kg of heroin

Members of community urged to inform police about suspects promoting drugs

Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Police arrested a suspected drug dealer of Asian origin who had 3 kilograms of heroin in his possession.

Colonel Taher Ghareeb Al Dhaheri, Director of ADP’s Drug Control Department, said that they got information about a suspicious person trying to sell heroin capsules in Abu Dhabi.

At the time of his arrest, the suspect was found in possession of a quarter of a kilogram of the capsules. The remaining quantity of heroin was found during search of the suspect’s residence.

Al Dhaheri called on members of the community to inform Abu Dhabi Police to deal with any promotion, smuggling, transfer or use of drugs. He said quick reporting of such incidents to police will help them to ensure safety and security of the society.

He said Abu Dhabi Police will continue its efforts to combat crime and to thwart any plans to promote drugs.
