Construction worker falls to death in Dibba

Sharjah: An Asian worker died after falling from a building under construction in Dibba Al Hosn district of Sharjah on Thursday, police said.

The accident took place in Al Aqeid Al Fareed Road in Dibba Al Hosn when the worker perched in an elevated portion of the under-construction building slipped and fell on the ground.

Workers at the site reported the incident to the police operation room. The worker was rushed to the hospital but later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead, the official said.

As police conduct further investigations, they strongly urged construction companies to ensure that all safety measures are in place at work sites to avoid such accidents.
