''Al Bee Al Sagheer'', the Young Environmentalist magazine website, issued by the Food and Environment Control Section and Shell Abu Dhabi will be available in English starting from the next month.

The announcement was made during a special ceremony held here last week to celebrate the launch of magazine on the Internet. The magazine is a children's environmentalist quarterly that was first issued in January 2001. The new version of the magazine is aimed at students at the English-speaking schools in the UAE.

Mohammed Amir, Software Development Manager at FOHMICS Inc., the designer of the site said that the website www.beesagheer.com was designed for children to access back issues of the magazine.

He said children would be able to make submissions to the magazine and to participate in environmental competitions and quizzes.

Amir said: "The beesagheer.com is a magazine designed to attract children. There is a complete table of contents to browse page by page. The objective of the website is to make children engage in the cybermedia. Children will become interactive with the site through competitions, quizzes, online chatting and reading online news."

The website was in place on the Internet on December 22 last month to determine any weaknesses in the site. The site has recorded 150 visits during the trial launch and before the official opening being declared.
