Dubai: A Chevrolet Impala vehicle is the latest addition to the Dubai Police’s fleet of patrol cars.
Major General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, Chief of Dubai Police, received the new vehicle from Morris Williams, president and managing director of GM Middle East operations and Mohammad Saeed Al Kindi, executive director of Canadian Automobiles, at the main building of the General Command of Dubai Police.
Maj Gen Al Mazeina praised the company’s initiatives and its contribution to support the Dubai Police awareness campaigns.
He pointed out that the modernisation of patrol vehicles conform to Dubai Police’s strategy to keep up with technology in order to better enforce traffic laws and regulations.
Dubai Police have a McLaren MP4-12C to its fleet that included a Lamborghini, an Aston Martin, a Bentley, a Ferrari, and a Chevrolet.
Officers get special training to drive these vehicles.
Dubai Police brought in the first of its supercars, the Lamborghini Aventador, in April 2013.
Dubai Police already have multi-million dirham cars such as the McLaren MP4-12C, Mercedes SLS, Nissan GTR , Mercedes SL 63, Ferrari FF Bentley Continental GT, Lamborghini Aventador, Bugatti Veyron, Aston Martin One-77, Audi R8, Mercedes G-class Brabus.
The force also has a 10-metre-long superboat and the Can Am Spyder — a new superbike.
All the vehicles are decorated in the police’s white and green livery.
