Boy, four, crushed to death by gate in Fujairah

Fujairah: A four-year-old Emirati boy was crushed to death as an automatic gate in his house was closing, a Fujairah police official told Gulf News on Tuesday. The incident occurred on Tuesday at 8am in Fujairah.

The victim, identified as M.A.AZ., was playing in front of his house when the sliding iron door crushed him to death.

According to sources at Fujairah Hospital, where the boy was taken soon after the incident, he died on the spot.

“He suffered severe head injuries and was bleeding severely when he arrived at the hospital. The little boy could not withstand the weight of the gate,” the official said.

Fujairah police are investigating the cause of the accident.
