Bodybuilding event today

The bodybuilding event begins today with the competition in the 60, 70, 80, 90 kg categories for men which will be held at the Busan Citizens Hall. Six bodybuilders will qualify from each category to the second round with the finals to be held on Saturday and Sunday.

UAE coach Jaffar Hussain said that he is confident of his team's standard despite the fact that there are some very good bodybuilders from Korea, Japan and Bahrain.

"We began preparations on June 23 with 22 players and selected six from them to represent the UAE in Busan," he said.

The UAE trainer added that they are looking to win two gold medals and two silver.

UAE will be represented by: Ahmed Hussain (60 kg), Saeed Al Mansouri (65), Walid Aman (70), Abdul Razaq Jaffar (75), Mahmoud Ali Murad (80), Ali Mohammed Abdullah (85), Mohammed Issa Rahma (90 kg).

The bowling event begins today with the men's singles at 9 am Busan time (4 am UAE local time) at Homeplus Asiad bowling alley in Busan. The UAE will be represented by six players, Hulaiman Al Hamly, Sultan Al Marzouqi, Shaker Ali, Sayed Ibrahim, Naif Aqab and Mohammed Khalifa Al Qubeissi.
