The Ministries of Labour and Social Affairs and Interior intend to include auditors and advocates under the categories eligible to transfer sponsorship, according to the Cabinet decision taken last year on sponsorship transfer.

Advocates can transfer their sponsorship if they hold a bachelor's degree in the field of their speciality accredited by the UAE authorities concerned, have spent at least two years with the former employer, have a residence visa stamped in their passport, and have obtained approval from the employer for sponsorship transfer.

Accountants are also eligible to transfer sponsorship if they meet the above requirements and hold an international certificate in accountancy, such as Charter Processing Accountant (CPA), Charter Processing Society (CPS) and Charter International Accountant (CIA) accredited by the authorities concerned in the UAE.

Both categories are exempted from the condition of holding a master's degree.

Sources confirmed that the inclusion of these two categories has been approved and submitted by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs to the Ministry of Interior, but that they had been omitted by mistake.

The reasons for inclusion of these categories is due to the shortage of advocates and auditors in the labour market.
