Abu Dhabi: For diehard Apple fans in Abu Dhabi, all roads will lead to one place on Thursday evening - Yas Mall.

Their long wait will be finally over when Apple opens its first Abu Dhabi store at 7pm.

Dubai too will have its share of the Apple. The US electronic giant is opening another store at Mall of the Emirates simultaneously.

In Abu Dhabi, the store located on the first floor of the Yas Mall has been attracting scores of curious visitors in the past few days ahead of the official opening.

A board inside the closed glass door of the shop on Tuesday read: ‘Grand Opening This Thursday 7pm.’ Sales staff could be seen conducting group meetings and checking out the final display of products while mall visitors posed for pictures and selfies in front of the store, which sports Apple’s characteristic designs including huge display screens, big oak tables and glass counters.

Filipino Glen Joseph, an engineer, said he cannot wait for the store to open. “I am definitely going to be here for the opening,” he said. “Ever since I saw pictures of Apple stores around the around, it has been my dream to see one in real,” he said.

Indian Vinu Rajan said he would love to check out the latest Apple products at the store. “Most people have a special fascination for Apple products. I would love to touch and feel the new Apple watch,” he said.

For Emirati businessman Abdullah Mohammad Al Shehi, it is a matter of pride to have an Apple store in Abu Dhabi.

“Apple was conspicuous by its absence in the UAE. But not any more,” said Al Shehi. He said he too is looking forward to enjoy the new Apple experience.
