Ajman forms panel to review sewage fees
His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ajman Ruler yesterday issued an Emiri Decree ordering the setting up of a committee to revise sewerage fees.
According to the decree, the waste water project will be referred to as the Ajman special company for sewerage, and the special committee, referred to as the sewage fees revising committee, will be set up. The committee is assigned to study objections from real estate owners to charges imposed for sew-age services.
The committee must submit its recommendations to the Ruler within ten days of the issuance of the decree so that it can be discussed with the waste water company and the banks financing the project.
The committee is authorised to obtain any documents or details in this respect from any party involved. Members of the committee are Khalifa Saif Al Muhairy, Abdullah Mohammed Al Muwaigi, Ali Abdullah Al Hamrany, Obeid Ali Al Muhairy, Abdullah Saeed Al Nuaimi, Abdul Rahman Yusuf Al Nuaimi, and Hamad Ghanim Al Shamsi.
The committee will appoint a chairman in its first meeting. The meetings must not be convened unless it is attended by at least the chairman and three members. Decisions are passed by the majority of votes, and in case of a tie vote, the chairman's vote will break the tie.
Directors general of the municipality and the waste water company can take necessary actions and issue required decisions to implement provisions of the decree.
