Abu Dhabi: General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces , on Sunday received Prime Minister of the Libyan Transitional Government Abdurrahim Al Keeb and the accompanying delegation.


During the meeting, attended by Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, Shaikh Mohammad and Al Keeb discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them in all fields. They also reviewed latest developments in Libya and means to push forward aspirations of the Libyan people for progress, prosperity, security and stability.


Shaikh Mohammad said UAE's support to the Libyan revolution was sincere and expressed optimism over the future of Libya and its ability to build a modern state.

For his part, Al Keeb thanked the UAE under the wise leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the unlimited support to the Libyan people, the latest of which was dispatching a planeload of relief materials and medical items to assist the people of Libya.


The meeting was also attended by Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces Lt. General Hamad Mohammad Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief Executive Officer of Masdar Dr. Sultan Ahmad Al Jaber, Suhail Al Mazroui, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Mubadala Oil and Gas, and UAE Ambassador to Libya Saeed Obaid Mohammad Al Kaabi.

From the Libyan side, it was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and ministers of foreign affairs, economy & finance, electricity & renewable energy, labour, communications, as well as Chief of the Staff of the Libyan Armed Forces and Libyan Ambassador to the UAE Arif Ali Al Nabidh.
