Dubai-based Shiv Kapur, Jeev Milkha Singh and MG Keyser all in contention

The Asian Tour will complete its season and the Order of Merit race with two events - the $1 million Singapore International at Tanah Merah Country Club from January 13, followed by the $1.25 million Singapore Open at Sentosa Golf Club.
Entries confirmed to date for The Singapore International include the top five in the current Asian Tour Order of Merit: Wade Ormsby, Phachara Khongwatmai, Joo-hyung Kim, Chan Shih-chang and Trevor Simsby.
There is a mere $65,000 separating the top five players in the season long standings, so all is to play for in these two important events.
Also confirmed in the field are Dubai-based players: Shiv Kapur, Jeev Milkha Singh and 2019 MENA Tour Order of Merit winner, MG Keyser.
Kapur gains his entry by being in Category 3(a) multiple Asian Tour Victories and Milkha Singh on the Asian Tour Career Money Winners Category 10.
Kapur said: “We are all excited to start the year with the completion of the 2020-21 Asian Tour Order of Merit. To have two events in Singapore to complete the season, by the end of January, is tremendous news following the two events in Phuket in November. In these Covid times it is important to have a number of events in a cluster region to hopefully make all the government regulations easier to manage as players as well as all the related support personnel and services.
“We will then begin our new Asian Tour journey with the $5 million Saudi International February 3-6. We cannot wait to get back in the rhythm of tournament golf. Tournament golf has had a rough couple of years, but let’s all hope we are all on the road to recovery.”
Among the 26 tournament invites are recent winner of the Arab Golf Championship in Egypt, Faisal Al Salhab, Saud Al Sharif, Ali Alsakha and Saudi professional Othman Almulla.
Others of note in the invite category are Charlie Wi (South Korea) and Zaw Moe (Myanmar), as well as Asian Tour Order of Merit winners Jazz Janewattananond (2019), Shubhankar Sharma (2018) and Gavin Green (2017) who are all part of the 138-strong field.
