Will India-Pakistan meet in the final again?

Dubai: Another India-Pakistan showdown appears to be on the horizon. With the semi-final lineup for the Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 now confirmed — and both regional powerhouses securing their spots in the last four — the stage seems set for a potential blockbuster final.

Pakistan have been flawless so far, collecting six points from three straight wins, including a commanding victory over India. They opened their campaign with a 40-run triumph against Oman, followed by an eight-wicket win over India, and wrapped up the group stage with a nine-wicket victory over the UAE in a low-scoring contest.

India finished second in the same group with four points. They began the tournament in dominant fashion, crushing the UAE by 148 runs. The match featured a stunning innings from 14-year-old batting prodigy Vybhav Suryavanshi, who smashed a 42-ball 144 with 11 fours and 15 sixes. After their loss to Pakistan, India recovered well, securing a comfortable six-wicket win over Oman.

Group A delivered a tight contest between Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. Sri Lanka’s early defeat to Afghanistan created a three-way tie, but a narrow six-run win over Bangladesh in the final group match ensured Afghanistan were eliminated on Net Run Rate.

The semi-finals are set for Friday, with India facing Bangladesh in the first match, followed by Pakistan taking on Sri Lanka later in the day.

The winners will meet in the final on Sunday.
