IPL: Is Sanju Samson joining Chennai Super Kings?

30-year-old's social media post leaves fans wondering about his next move

Dubai: If Sanju Samson's recent post on social media is to be believed then the 30-year-old looks all set to leave Rajasthan Royals and join Chennai Super Kings.

The Rajasthan captain shared a picture of him and his wife captioning it "Time to MOVE...!! The yellow line on the road opened up a sea for speculations that Samson was very likely to move to CSK.

CSK can trade Samson from RR and also sign him during the mini-auction if he is released by Rajasthan Royals. Ruturaj Gaikwad is the captain of the five-time champions.

IPL career

Samson played for Kolkata Knight Riders when the franchise won the title in IPL 2012. He was signed by Rajasthan in 2013 and stayed with them till 2015.

He played for the Delhi Capitals (then known as Delhi Daredevils) in IPL 2016 and 2017. Samson started his second innings with Rajasthan in 2018 and he was retained before the IPL 2022 and 2025 mega-auctions.

He was appointed as their captain 2021. He led the team to the final of IPL 2022. The Royals have been victorious in 33 and lost 32 matches under Samson.

He has scored 4,027 runs, the most by a Rajasthan batter. Jos Buttler, who now plays for Gujarat Titans, is in second position, with 3,055 runs.
