Sharjah: Sharjah Police, in cooperation with Emirates Auction, on Thursday launched an online auction offering 77 distinguished car number plates of category 3.

Registration to take part in the auction, which began at 6pm on Thursday, will continue until June 2. The 77 distinguished number plates available for direct sale include five triple-digit plates, 38 four-digit and 34 five-digit plates.

One of the most attractive number plates on offer is 2019, which represents the upcoming year.

Other prominent numbers in the auction are three-digit plates such as 105, 118, 199, 220 and 505, four-digit plates such as 1011, 1020, 1210, 1400, 2001, 7676, 8080, and five-digit plates such as 25000 and 70707.

Many numbers could match dates or years of birth for people who like such symbolism.

Number plates can be bought directly from the Vehicles and Drivers’ Licensing Department at Sharjah Police, or through Emirates Auction’s website — www.EmiratesAuction.com — and its smartphone application. They can also be bought by visiting the Emirates Auction’s customer service centre at the Traffic Department in Al Ramtha area of Sharjah.

Colonel Ali Bualzod, director of police’s Vehicles and Drivers’ Licensing Department, stated that both Sharjah Police and Emirates Auction are offering the new set of distinguished number plates through an online auction in view of the remarkable demand and customer satisfaction witnessed during the past online auctions.
