Abu Dhabi: A new 120-bed private hospital will soon provide health care services for women and children in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, developers announced in a statement on Sunday.

The European Maternity Hospital will be located in Khalifa City, and it is expected to be operational by 2021.

“The [hospital] will assist many families for generations to come. We [wanted] to have the hospital in Khalifa City in order to maximise the number of families that would benefit from our specialised services. There are over 30,000 families living in the vicinity, and currently there is no hospital that focuses purely on the needs of women and young children,” said Mohammad Hamad, chief executive officer at European Hospital LLC.

The facility has already received its licence from the Abu Dhabi City Municipality and the Abu Dhabi Department of Health, and officials recently completed its groundbreaking ceremony.
