Sharjah - His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, received on Tuesday journalists from across the UAE.
In a lecture at Al Majaz Amphitheatre, Dr Shaikh Sultan spoke about the roots of Arabic literature. Dr Shaikh Sultan spoke about the origins of Arabic expressions and words, pointing out that the complexities behind them convinces researchers of the language’s deep roots, particularly when it possesses so much diversity in terms of content, form and meaning.
Dr Shaikh Sultan also touched on the story of Prophet Yousuf, the Nabateans, and the role of prominent Kings in promoting culture by encouraging and incentivising poets.
Dr Shaikh Sultan announced that a book containing all his lectures in the past years will be published soon, which touched on language, heritage, literature in the Arab Nation, in addition to the history of old cities. The announcement of the book release came in response to a question posed by a person in attendance, who pointed out the importance of publishing the lectures presented by Dr Shaikh Sultan due to their immense scientific and academic value.
