Umm Al Quwain: A fire broke out in a container factory in the Umm Al Thuoob industrial area in Umm Al Quwain late on Thursday.
No one was injured in the blaze, but the factory was destroyed in addition to a number of caravans, said lieutenant Colonel Dr Salem Hamad Bin Hamdha, acting director general of Umm Al Quwain Civil Defence.
Firefighters from Umm Al Quwain and Sharjah quickly battled the flames and prevented it from spreading to adjacent areas.
Umm Al Quwain municipality also participated in the operation.
Police have cordoned off the area to help the work of the Civil Defence team.
The building and surrounding areas were evacuated.
The site was handed over to Umm Al Quwain police to ascertain the cause of the fire .
