Sharjah: A fire broke out in a scrap yard in industrial area No 4 on Sunday morning in Sharjah, an official said.
Colonel Sami Khamis Al Naqbi, Director General of Sharjah Civil Defence, said no injuries were reported in the blaze that started at around 10am.
Sharjah Police sealed off roads leading to the site and only emergency vehicles were allowed to enter the area.
Firefighters from Civil Defence headquarters, Samnan, Al Mina, Al Hamriyah and Al Nahda stations took part in the operation to douse the fire.
Workers in nearby premises were evacuated for their safety.
Colonel Al Naqabi said the site would be handed over to forensic laboratory experts to determine the cause of the blaze
