Dubai: A cleaner has been jailed for three months for filming two brothers naked in the changing room after their swimming lesson during the school’s spring camp.

The brothers, aged 7 and 9, were swimming in the pool as part of a spring camp and when they finished, they entered the washrooms to shower and change in March.

As soon as they removed their swimsuits to dress up, the 23-year-old Nigerian cleaner walked in to the washroom on the pretext that he wanted to tidy up the place.

The nine-year-old brother heard him clicking photos while they were in the washroom and when he asked him if he had filmed them, the cleaner denied and walked out of the washroom.

Disbelieving the Nigerian since he had heard the sound of the phone’s camera clicking, the schoolboy went to his school instructor and told him what had happened.

Police arrested the 23-year-old defendant shortly after the brothers’ mother reported the matter.

The Dubai Court of First Instance convicted the Nigerian accused of outraging the modesty of the brothers when he secretly filmed them naked in the shower at a school in Al Barsha.

When police seized the defendant’s phone and had it checked, they discovered that it contained a video recording of 1.50 minutes of the brothers nude in the shower and five still photos.

According to the primary ruling, the accused, who had pleaded guilty, will be deported after serving his jail term.

The elder brother told prosecutors that the accused filmed them naked in the changing room after their swimming session and he alerted his teacher.

“When I asked him if he had filmed us, he said no and walked out of the washroom. I was confident that he had filmed us because I heard the click of his phone’s camera,” he testified.

The ruling has become final.
