A dictator killed by his people

Mubarak meets then Libyan Leader Muammar Gaddafi at the Egyptian border city of Mersa Matrouh in this October 16, 1989 photo. Libya’s ruler of 42 years was killed by fighters after hiding out in a drainage pipe on October 20, 2011.

A tyrant at the end of a rope

Mubarak posing with then Iraqi President Saddam Hussain picture dated October 23, 1988. The dictator who ruled Iraq from 1979 to 2003 was captured in December 2003 hiding in a hole. He was executed by handing on December 30, 2006.

A president sentenced to jail

Mubarak and former Tunisian President Zine Al Abidine attend the funeral for Yasser Arafat in 2006. Ben Ali ruled Tunisia for 25 years and lives in Saudi Arabia. He was sentenced in absentia earlier this month to 20 years for inciting violence and murder.
