Dubai: Police warned residents against using medications purchased from the black market which can be hazardous and poisonous.

The medications purchased in the black market can cause fatalities or grave health problems since the medication is manufactured in illegal companies and is not regulated by health authorities.

The unregistered medication may contain unknown substances or compositions which could endanger lives, said Forensic Expert Huda Saeed, Head of the Toxicology section in the General Department of Forensic Sciences and Criminology at Dubai Police.

Huda said members of the public may buy the medication for its cheap price and the ease of getting the medication without a prescription.
