Realty agent denies molesting girl in International City

Dubai: A real estate agent denied in court on Moday the charge of placing his hand inside the skirt of a girl while showing her a flat for rent at Dubai International City.

Prosecutors accused the 29-year-old Pakistani suspect of sexually molesting the 24-year-old Mexican girl by touching her legs after putting his hand up her skirt.

"No I am not guilty… I didn't molest her," argued 29-year-old M.A. when he defended himself before the Dubai Court of First Instance.

His lawyer Samira Gargash asked Presiding Judge Mohammad Majid Mohammad to adjourn the case to hear the girl's statement.

The girl, L.G., who works as a supervisor, testified that the incident happened when the suspect was showing her flats to rent.

"While we were inside a flat, I walked out to the balcony and was taking photos of the view to show them to my fiancé and friends… I was taking photos with my mobile phone camera when suddenly I felt somebody touching my legs from inside the skirt. I turned back and was shocked to see the defendant groping me. I also heard his mobile phone camera clicking and realised that he took snapshots up my skirt… immediately I snatched away the phone from his hand wanting to remove the pictures and report it to the police.

Struggled for a while

"He quarrelled with me and wanted to retrieve his phone. I struggled with him for a while and then tried to throw away the phone but he managed to grab it… I was outraged. Then he followed me before I left the flat and begged me not to report matter to the police or his boss. Then I went with my friends to the police station and complained," L.G. told prosecutors.

The court reconvenes on December 30.
