Dubai: It seems that Pakistanis are eargerly waiting for the oath-taking ceremony of Pakistan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan. To the extent where they are sending congratulatory messages and requests to the Bollywood actor of the same name.
On his official Instagram account, actor Khan, who is the nephew of Bollywood celebrity Aamir Khan, shared a screenshot of an email that he had received from a fan. But, that email wasn’t meant for him, and instead was for the PTI chairman.
It read: “Dear Prime Minister, Successful leader takes right decision at right time. He recognises true friends and supporters and selects faithful team members. Now it is ten years long governance and I want to join your team on the very first day.”
Taking it in good humour, the actor posted it for his 800,000 followers to see along with the caption: “I guess I can no longer ignore the call to action. Gonna start drafting some policy outlines this week, I’ll keep you guys updated.”
Within three hours, the post had received over 13,000 likes and over 250 comments, with most people finding the confusion very amusing, while some were apologising on behalf of all Pakistanis.

Some of his followers were actually interested in seeing what policies the actor would come up with if he was in fact prime minister.

This isn’t the first time this confusion has occurred. A month ago, the actor had posted another screenshot of a message he had received from one of his Instagram followers. It was a complaint, written in Urdu, against the local police station in his town in Pakistan.
A few days ago, the actor’s uncle Aamir was being questioned by Pakistani tweeps on whether he will be keeping his promise and visiting Pakistan to attend the PTI chief’s oath-taking ceremony. A video from 2012 had resurfaced on Twitter in which the Bollywood superstar was seen promising the Pakistani politician that he would come to Pakistan to celebrate his victory if he won in the country’s general elections.
