Patna: An old woman in Bihar returned home 10 years after her family members had performed her last rites presuming her to be dead.
The incident took place in Begusarai district in the weekend, leaving her family members pleasantly surprised.
As per the report, dumb-mute woman Sheela Devi, 85, had gone missing in 1998 while on way to attend a wedding function in the family in the nearby village.
Subsequently, her family members launched extensive searches for her but failed to trace her. They eagerly waited for her 10 years but she failed to return in this period, the family members eventually conducted her symbolic last rites in 2008, presuming her to be dead and also threw a funeral feast to the local villagers.
The miracle happened in the weekend when one of her relatives found her waiting for a bus at a bus stop in Muzaffarpur district and identified her. Subsequently, he took her home in Begusarai.
The incident has become a talk of the town and scores of villagers are rushing to see the lady who was declared dead about a decade back.
