Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has caused a stir in political circles by predicting a snap poll in the state. He asked his party leaders and cadres to be ready to face the elections at any time. He dropped hints of an early election while addressing the state coordination committee of Telugu Desam (TDP) in Vijayawada on Friday. The meeting was attended by all the senior leaders of the party including cabinet ministers.

Naidu asked the party leaders to prepare the cadres for elections by strengthening the organisation at the grass-root level. “While retaining the existing vote bank of the party you should work hard to strengthen the hold over the scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and all other sections of the society”, he told the leaders.

He also wanted the senior leaders to hold a meeting in every district every month to prepare the party for the elections. “Go to the people with the agenda of elections and start holding meetings in every district”, Naidu said.

While analysing the strengths and weakness of TDP, Naidu told the leaders that the party’s vote bank had increased by 16.13 per cent and the opposition YSRCP vote share had decreased by 13.45 per cent. Congress vote share remains confined to 1 per cent, he said. But he did not mention anything about TDP’s ally, the Bharatiya Janata Party, which has been dropping hints from time to time that it may go alone in the next elections.

He promised that from now on he will dedicate more time to party affairs and take up the matters everyday after 6pm. He wanted the other leaders to also devote more time to the party work. Naidu will be announcing the names of all the district in-charge ministers in a day or two.
