Dubai: Whether you are applying for a tourist visa abroad, such as a Schengen visa, sponsoring a family member’s visa, or handling employment procedures like changing jobs, you may need to provide a copy of your UAE residence visa.

Since 2022, Emirates ID cards have officially replaced residence visa stickers in the UAE. The visa sticker, which previously displayed a person’s residency details in their passport, no longer occupies a page. Instead, all residency details are stored digitally on your Emirates ID.

However, there are still cases where you may need to provide the residence visa document. The good news is that you can easily obtain a copy online. Here’s how:

Option 1 – Visit the ICP website

  1. Go to icp.gov.ae.

  2. Navigate to Public Services, then click on Reports, and select OTHER SERVICES – REPORTS – RESIDENCE DETAILS – PRINT.

  3. Click Start Service and enter the following details:

    • File number (a unique identifier assigned to individuals visiting or residing in the UAE for visa or residency purposes)

    • Nationality

    • Date of birth

    • Email address

    • Mobile number

  4. Click Next, and you will be able to view and print your UAE residence visa document.

Option 2 – Download the UAE ICP app

If you do not know your file number, you can download the UAE ICP app, available for both Apple and Android devices.

  1. Log in using your UAE Pass.

  2. On the homepage, tap Residence, where you will see your residence visa document.

  3. Tap the three dots to download the document as a PDF.

Option 3 – Use the UAE Pass app

The UAE Pass app offers a range of features that simplify administrative processes, from signing documents to requesting official records digitally and securely.

  1. Download the app and create an account by registering your Emirates ID. Verify your identity using facial recognition and set a security PIN code.

  2. Once your account is created, you can access key documents such as your Ejari, Emirates ID, driving licence, and UAE residence visa.

  3. On the app’s homepage, tap Add Documents, then Personal, and select UAE Residence Visa to view the document.

  4. If you need to show your UAE residence visa at a government centre or office, tap the QR Verification option. The QR code confirms the authenticity of the document.
