Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is elated that his film Raman Raghav 2.0 will be premiering at the upcoming 69th Cannes International Film Festival.

The Anurag Kashyap film is based on notorious serial killer Raman Raghav, who went on a murder spree in Mumbai in the 1960s. Siddiqui plays the protagonist alongside Vicky Kaushal, who plays a police officer.

“I am very happy that another film if mine, Raman Raghav 2.0 is premiering at Cannes. It only goes to show that you are on the right track and are making the right choices,” Siddiqui said in a statement.

The Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor is something of a regular at the prestigious film festival. Raman Raghav 2.0 marks his eighth film at the film gala in four years — seven as an actor and one as producer. . His earlier films to make it to the Cannes include The Lunchbox, Gangs of Wasseypur, Liar’s Dice and his debut production Miyan Kal Aana, directed by his brother, Shamas Siddiqui.

Raman Raghav 2.0 is set to premiere in the prestigious Director’s Fortnight segment of the festival, which runs from May 11 to 22.
