As Marvel superheroes assemble to battle their most powerful enemy yet with Avengers: Infinity War, fans of the blockbuster franchise are hoping many of their questions will be answered by the latest film.

Their aim is to defeat intergalactic super villain Thanos, who’s hell bent on collecting six infinity stones protected by our superheroes. By collecting the stones, Thanos aims to rebalance the universe as he sees it, with the possibility of killing half the world’s population in a snap using the Infinity Gauntlet.

But as our trusty superheroes set out to save the world yet again, here are some of the questions we hope Marvel’s latest film will answer:

Where’s the Stormbreaker?

Marvel fans are eagerly awaiting an introduction to Thor’s new weapon. The Stormbreaker is an enhanced version of the Mjolnir (Thor’s Hammer). Fans were shocked when Mjolnir was destroyed in the superhero’s last outing, Thor: Ragnarok, by the evil Hela. The Avengers: Infinity War trailers describe The Stormbreaker as an enhanced Mjolnir with a small mallet on one end and a large blade on the other. And we can’t wait to see what it can do.

The missing stone

Infinity Stones are mystic artefacts of immense power that hold predominance over the universe. Five out of six stones have been introduced over the course of 14 Marvel movies: The Tesseract, The Reality Stone, The Power Stone, The Mind Stone and The Time Stone. The sixth one, The Soul Stone, allows the user to steal, control, manipulate and alter the living and the dead. And since we still don’t know where it is, it is up to our team of heroes who must do whatever it takes to ensure that it isn’t within the reach of Thanos.

Upgraded suits

After the introduction of the watch-based arc reactor glove, Tony Stark has evolved his armour to match his needs in battle. Working on the nanotechnology emanating from his body, similar to the Black Panther suit, the Bleeding Edge Armour is a versatile and powerful suit with a rocket thruster sticking out of Iron Man’s arms and back allowing him to propel into deep space and change form and shape, responding to Stark’s every thoughts. There’s also the Iron Spider Suit, which was first introduced in the comics as a multipurpose piece of technology that transforms Spider Man into a heavy-hitter. There’s also the fascinating addition of eight mechanical arms for Peter Parker, bringing out his true “spider-like” instincts.

Will Gamora have the answers?

Though Gamora’s childhood as Thanos’ adopted daughter is one that is clearly horrific, the flashback seen in the trailers shows her being taken away as a child while her people are held captive. What does Gamora know? Will she hold the key to Thanos’ weakness and therefore pave the way to his defeat? Fans will want to know.

Return of Hawkeye and the Captain

Since the events of Captain American: Civil War, Captain America aka Steve Rogers along with some of the troop who stuck by him including Hawkeye have been on the run. The Captain is back and seen leading the charge in the trailer and is seen stopping a punch from Thanos at one point. Will this be the ultimate sacrifice? There are also theories that Hawkeye aka Clint Barton is probably going into retirement and coming back as Ronin, an alias used by multiple characters who need to be in hiding within the Marvel Universe.

Don’t miss it!
