Amer Bin Ahmed, Managing Director of Knauf Middle East and India has been a long term strategic partner of the UAE's drive to sustainability. Having recently collaborated with both Dubai Civil Defence and Dubai Municipality on quality control and exporting, he collected the award from the Ministry. He stated 'The UAE's commitment to sustainable practices and quality materials is vital to achieve the long term goals that our leaders have set.

“At Knauf, we recognize that there needs to be collaboration across all stake holders to ensure that projects are safe, sustainable and within budget," says Bin Ahmed. "To do this, manufacturers are responsible for making sure that they are offering high performance materials that are sustainable, safe and made in the UAE, locally sourced and produced for the betterment of the global ecology. To ensure that we are achieving this, we invest heavily within research and development locally and test products with our partners.

"Today's award is a recognition not only of Knauf's commitment to green building, but to all our partners within the Government which have worked with us to offer the most sustainable products in the world. We are manufacturing locally, innovating and testing systems for the region, to meet the international standards – ASTM, EN-BS and DIN.”
