June was an emotional and eventful month for BTS and their devoted fanbase, ARMY. The group’s military service phase has finally come to a close, with members gradually returning. RM and V marked their return earlier in June, followed shortly by Jimin and Jungkook. On June 21, Suga completed his service, while Jin and J-Hope had already returned last year. Since then, Jin has kept fans entertained with his fun variety show Run Jin, while J-Hope has been busy with concerts and solo activities. Barring Suga, RM went live and shared his experiences of being in military, his difficulties, and his battle with insomnia. On the other hand, Jimin and Jungkook shared their experiences. Between the laughter, fans read between the lines of how the two formed a stronger support system.

On BTS’s 12th anniversary, June 13, the members showed their support for J-Hope at his final solo concert. Jin and Jungkook even performed on stage with him, while the rest cheered from the stands, which became a rather emotional moment as they sang Spring Day, one of the band’s most famous songs, emphasising yearning and missing loved ones.

What BTS has been doing since their discharge

Since their full return, fans have eagerly awaited a live group appearance, but it hasn’t happened yet. RM has been enjoying a peaceful break in Switzerland, immersing himself in art and nature. Jimin playfully took on J-Hope’s dance challenge Killing It Girl, with Jungkook capturing the fun on video, giving fans a glimpse of their lighter moments.

Suga, however, has been notably absent from live appearances. Instead of going live, he shared a heartfelt letter with fans, expressing excitement about seeing them again but also offering a sincere apology for the DUI incident he was involved in last year. This message moved many fans to tears and earned a flood of supportive responses reminding him, “This is your home. You shouldn’t feel uncomfortable.”

In addition to his personal reflections, Suga has been deeply involved in philanthropic work. Over the past year, he launched an autism center with a unique, music-driven mission aimed at helping children. He spends his weekends teaching and supporting these children, a commitment that has understandably kept him off the live stage.

Why they haven’t had a live broadcast yet

So why hasn’t BTS reunited for a live broadcast or performance as a full group yet? The simple answer is that their schedules remain staggered and busy. RM is still overseas, Jin is focused on his upcoming tour preparations, and Suga is dedicating time to his philanthropic projects. Fans have also expressed concern over Jungkook’s absence from live events, especially after a brief controversy related to a cap he wore soon after his discharge. However, many fans found comfort in seeing Jungkook’s playful presence in Jimin’s dance video, signaling that he’s easing back into the spotlight in his own way.

While ARMY patiently awaits an official group live appearance, it’s clear that BTS members are carefully savouring their return to public life, balancing personal healing, individual projects, and group commitments.
