Vidya Balan carries her legacy of hits forward with Kahaani, which has reportedly collected Rs29 million (Dh2.11 million) on its opening day.
Released in India on Friday, the drama-thriller made on a shoestring budget of Rs80 million is receiving positive response from both critics and audiences.
Gautam Dutta, COO of PVR, said the film has exceeded their expectations, saying, "The response we are getting for the film is phenomenal. There are families coming together to watch the movie. And since it is a women-centric film, there are groups of females coming to watch the film. We are expecting a 80 per cent occupancy all over India on weekend, which is something we did not expect."
