Telugu drama ‘Fidaa’ makes Rs600m in two weeks

Telugu drama Fidaa, a love story starring Varun Teja, has made Rs600 million (Dh34.5 million) worldwide in two weeks making it the biggest grosser in filmmaker Sekhar Kammula’s career.

“The film has won over audiences from all quarters,” read a statement from the makers.

Following the debacles of Life is Beautiful and Anamika (the Telugu remake of Hindi thriller Kahaani), Kammula has bounced back with Fidaa.

The film marks the Telugu debut of Malayalam star Sai Pallavi.

Produced by Dil Raju, the film has performed well in the US as well. According to its US distributors, the film is inching close to the $2 million (Dh7.3 million) mark.
