Actor-filmmaker Arjun Sarja, who is awaiting the release of Tamil actioner Jai Hind 2, says films should guarantee more than just entertainment to audiences.
“I agree entertainment is important but I strongly feel cinema is the most effective medium to inspire people. Hence, films should give audiences something worthy to take back home,” Sarja said.
In Jai Hind 2, Sarja has touched upon the problems prevalent in India’s educational system. He plays the lead in the film.
“Most of my films focus on some problems that trouble us. This time I’ve focused on our educational system. The core idea of the film was inspired by a book written by our former president A.P.J. Abdul Kalam,” he said.
The film is the sequel to Sarja’s 1994 hit Jai Hind, which dealt with terrorism.
Also starring Surveen Chawla and Charlotte Claire, Jai Hind 2 will have a simultaneous release in Telugu and Kannada as well.
