Internationally acclaimed filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, whose ambitious project Paani has been in the making for many years, says it's easier to make sequels to his films than to work on "a passion film like Paani".

"Quite normal for passion films like Paani to take time. These r films made despite many odds. Gandhi took 15 yrs," Kapur posted on Twitter. Though he has no immediate plans to work on sequels, he added: "Far easier 2 make Elizabeth 3 or Mr.India 2. Bt my heart lies in Paani."

Paani is a film on water wars, and shows how water becomes a precious commodity and creates a rift between communities. Kapur will begin shooting the movie in November. It is expected to release in mid-2012.
